The Austin Esary Foundation was formed in 2016 as a tribute to our son. Austin passed away in October 2015, at the age of 16, by suicide.
The Foundation was created after an outpouring of support from friends and our community in reaction to the loss of Austin and the cause of his death. It is Austin’s family, friends and those who can relate to his struggles who honor Austin’s legacy through this foundation.
It was formed in response to the increase in student suicides that occurred over such a short period of time at our local high school. We saw the need to find a positive way to impact others and hopefully reach youth, much like Austin, and make a difference in their lives and our community.
